A SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF FERN
BLUMBERG

Fern attended the School of art &
Design in Philadelphia and later
transferred to the Pennsylvania
Academy of Fine art.
For many years she applied her
fine art knowledge to craft work
before returning to pastel and oil
painting.

In the 1990's Fern was employed
by the Painter's Nest in
Southampton, Pennsylvania as a
teacher, picture framer and
manager.  This is where she met
and partnered with fellow artist
Ellen Hall- to assist in the running
of the Ivyland Art Group in
Ivyland, Pennsylvania.  In the art
group she functions as a teacher,
picture framer, and coordinator
for art shows.

Fern was employed by galleries in
the Bucks County area and Media
Library at Stockton State College.

Her first one-man show was at the
ABC Gallery in Lambertville, New
Jersey.  She has also shown her
work at the Philadelphia Sketch
Club, Doylestown Art League,
Buckingham Frame Shop &
Gallery, Orland Art Group and
many of the local shows in the
Doylestown and New Hope area.

Her work can be found in
collections at Professional Auto
Services in Bensalem, PA., Victor
Café in Philadelphia, The Manor
Inn in Flemington, NJ, as well as
private collections in California,
Louisiana, Minnesota,
Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Fern currently resides in
Warminster, Pennsylvania with
her family.  She is still very active
in the Ivyland Art Group,
continues to paint and accept
commissions for painting and
framing.
